In contrast, a large number of inferior products on the market have a short service life and will greatly reduce the living experience. Today, we will teach you how to accurately identify the quality of insulating glass from the perspective of original factory production technology and avoid purchasing traps.


I. Identification Methods of Qualified Insulating Glass from Regular Glass Factories
Qualified insulating glass produced by formal glass factory adopts standardized double-sealing technology with compliant and verifiable configurations. First of all, check the sealing structure. Qualified products adopt double-layer protection with butyl rubber for the first seal and structural adhesive for the second seal. The adhesive layer is uniform and full without broken glue or bubbles, and the edge is flat and neat, which is the core technology to isolate water vapor and lock dry air in the hollow layer.
Secondly, check the spacer strip and desiccant. Qualified insulating glass is equipped with a special aluminum spacer strip with air holes, which is fully filled with molecular sieve desiccant inside. It can continuously absorb water vapor in the hollow layer and avoid fogging during long-term use. Meanwhile, the qualified glass has a flat and transparent surface without scratches and ripples, with uniform light transmission and no deformation or ghosting when viewing objects through the glass. It is also attached with formal 3C certification marks and factory quality inspection certificates.
Finally, verify the production qualifications. Formal glass factory can provide product test reports and production traceability information. The production technology, raw materials and parameters are fully standardized to eliminate cutting corners.


II. Core Defect Characteristics of Inferior Insulating Glass
Most inferior insulating glass on the market is non-standard processed by small workshops with greatly reduced production procedures and raw material costs, with obvious defects. Firstly, the sealing technology is fake. The double sealing process is omitted, and only ordinary glass glue or PVC foam strips are used for simple bonding. The adhesive layer is uneven in thickness, easy to crack and fall off, with extremely poor sealing performance, leading to air leakage and water inflow in a short period of time.
Secondly, raw and auxiliary materials are shoddy. Inferior non-porous spacer strips are used, or the spacer strips are not filled with desiccant, or inferior and invalid molecular sieves are filled. After a period of use, the water vapor in the hollow layer cannot be absorbed, resulting in white fog, mildew spots and water droplets due to temperature difference, which completely loses the sound insulation and heat insulation performance.
Thirdly, the glass base material is inferior. It adopts non-tempered ordinary glass with uneven thickness and no 3C certification. It has poor impact resistance and is prone to self-explosion and damage, causing great potential safety hazards. In addition, the overall dimension deviation is large, which further fails the sealing performance after installation. Its service life is only 1-3 years, far lower than the 15+ year service cycle of products from regular factories.
